General Rules:

1. Be nice! Simple as that. While there will always be disagreements in every community, discussions should always be conducted in a polite manner. We will not tolerate rude behaviour, harassment, or excessive bad language.

2. Fanworks are the only content allowed to be submitted into this community. (Examples: Fanfic, fanart, podfics, cosplay, icons, etc) While we love meta posts, screenshot collections, etc, they don't belong in this community!

3. Please don't spam: no more than three (3) posts on the comm per day.

4. When commenting on fanworks, please be mindful of your comments and remember rule 1. Critique or constructive criticism should only be given if and when requested by the author themselves!

5. We have a two-strike policy in regards to rude comments, so please be mindful.

6. Do not pressure anyone in any way for updates relating to their works. You will be given a strike.

7. Accumulating two strikes will result in a permanent ban from the community.

Submissions and Posting:

1. All Fanworks related to the Mo Dao Zu Shi fandom are accepted. This includes works based off any adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi - all are welcome!

2. Submissions of all ratings are welcome, BUT should the content be Explicit it must be age-restricted and indicated in your header. Please use the ‘Age Restriction’ panel on the create entry page, and select level ‘Age 18+’ for explicit works. The tag [ADULT] should also be added to your header.

3. All genres/ships are accepted. :) Please make sure to label accordingly and tag to avoid any issues!

4. All works submitted can be posted on the comm, posted elsewhere with a link on the comm, or cross-posted in their entirety to multiple sites - we really don't mind! The idea of this community is to have a safe space for whatever is posted here.
Note:
Now that AO3 permits comments to be disable, should you like to post on AO3 and make a post linking to your work here, it is definitely acceptable - comments will be enabled in this community, but anon commenting is disabled.

5. Whilst we encourage members to post unlocked work, we understand that some content creators feel more comfortable controlling who is able to comment on or view their works - in this case, you are always welcomed to lock your content to comm members only.

6. Content notes must include warnings, kinks, potential triggers, and warnings for any text or imagery that might reasonably be considered disturbing for readers - never post that kind of content outside a cut! If you are unsure which category your work falls into, please ask a mod for guidance.

7. Should you have cross-posted work from AO3, we ask that you copy and paste the tags used in the header.

8. Your work must be rated appropriately - mature material must be marked as such! Whilst we certainly don't have a problem with this, not everyone feels the same way, and you never know in what environment you might be browsing the 'net when you happen to scroll by the comm. So, all NSFW content must be behind your cut tag.

9. Tag your work! The rules for using tags are simple: when posting content, please use the appropriate tags to describe the content.
For example:
When posting a work of fanfiction, you would tag the entry as fanfiction, along with its appropriate rating, genre, pairing (if applicable) and the main characters featured in the writing. If it’s crossposted on A03, add the AO3 tag. A list of current tags can be found here.

10. Always use the default font type and color in your posts. Fancy coding which looks good in the community might not look so fancy on a user's reading page! However, please feel free to get creative with whatever you place under the cut.

11. If you’re copy/pasting from MS Word or similar, and accidentally carrying over its default font, then paste your text into the html tab of the posting box. This will remove all previous formatting. After that, you can go back to the Rich Text tab and format it to your liking, or you can always do your own formatting.

12. One fanwork per post, please! If you have two unrelated works, post them one by one. However, if you have fanart to go with your fic (or two related pieces of any kind of fanwork), you should post them together. Multiple fics in a series can be posted separately.

13. You must use our subject line template when you post:
Fanwork Type: Fanwork Title or Content
eg. Fanfic: [Title]
or Fanart: [Wangxian artwork]

14. Always use a cut tag. You can post small thumbnail images (below 100kb) outside of a cut where appropriate, but all fanworks should always be cut-tagged. If you are not sure how to make a cut tag, please check out our guide here.

Fanfiction:

1. Reposting fanfic is strictly forbidden. All fanfic must be your own work.

2. An exception will be made for a collaborative work eg. an illustrated fanfic - as long as you have permission from your collaborator to post their work!

3. When you’re posting fic, we advise you consider carefully before you use special formatting – even if it’s under the cut. People are always most comfortable reading with their own chosen default font.

4. For browsing ease, you should include the following information in the header info of your fic posts: title, author, rating, pairing (if applicable), content notes (ie, warnings, kinks, etc, if applicable), spoiler info, summary/excerpt, pairing, wordcount. You can use the template below, Please keep author notes brief or put them behind a cut-tag.

5.If you are linking to a work on your personal journal, AO3, twitter, tumblr, etc, you can provide a link instead of using a cut tag.

Fanart and other picture media (eg. cosplay photos):

1. All kinds of fanart are always welcomed; any media, type, etc. As long as it is Mo dao Zu Shi!

2. Reposting art is strictly forbidden. All artwork must be your own work.
